What's Wrong with the Germans?

I would like you to tell me what's wrong with the Germans? Have they experienced more than we have? Do they know more than we do? Do they understand the human psychic better than us?

They must do, otherwise they wouldn't be able to make such wonderful master pieces.

Is this the third wave of German cinema that is here to amuse us, make us think and make us cry?

I've watched four German movies in the past few months: The Counterfeiters, Four Minutes, Now or Never and Rabbit Without Ears if you have the chance please watch them.

The Counterfeiters is brilliant, yes. I think Germans are "special" (if they are) because they've been through pain, perhaps on a more individual level, and now they have chances to flourish their experiences with art. But, I think strictly speaking, the answer to all four of your questions would be No :]
Thank you Stolich.
I am really glad you liked The Counterfeiters.

I was hoping someone would post a comment just so I can add another couple of movies that I've recently seen. Kebab Connection (Germany and Turkey)if you feel like a laugh, absolutely brilliant; and The Three Burials of Melquiades Estrada (US) if you feel like blowing your mind.

You are right. I'm sure the answers are all no. But I think some Germans really know how to play with your head through film.

Saludos
Julio
